Vucic: Hoti is seeking to put pressure on Serbia to recognize Kosovo

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic., Last night commented on the statements of Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti about the meeting in Washington.

He said that Hoti’s recent statements show that Pristina is not ready to compromise in the next meetings in Washington and Brussels, and that its demands are mainly related to mutual recognition, which he said he would reject.

Vucic was asked by the media regarding the messages sent by official Pristina that he would seek mutual recognition at the Washington meeting. According to him, what Prime Minister Hoti says is in fact what both Americans and Europeans think.

“Trump wrote to us in a letter awaiting mutual recognition. Do not be surprised, because they (USA) recognized (Kosovo) 12 years ago. “And now Hoti’s tactics are that someone should put pressure on Vucic, who will have to sign him under terrible pressure from the world and Europe, and that is how we will end things,” Vucic said.

Asked to comment on the fact that he said he would refuse to meet with President Donald Trump if mutual recognition is required, Vucic said “he is too young to determine where Trump will come and where he will not come. “I do not want to accept offers for mutual recognition,” Vucic said.
